HENRY NICKEL PASSES

Former Fraser Valley referee and member Henry Nickel passed away on June 22nd in hospital in Chilliwack. Many will remember Henry as a member in the 1990’s when he ran the Dime Dairy with his wife Anne.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nickel family at this time.

Do you enjoy writing? Do you enjoy like being on the pulse of what’s going on locally in soccer? Then we have an assignment for you! The BCSRA Website and the Flag & Whistle is looking for members to help report about the local soccer scene. This is a volunteer position but one which will give each person real-world experience. People should be willing and able to chase down stories, enjoy talking to people and a natural, inquisitive demeanour. All inquiries should be made to Webmaster Adam Crowe (adamcro@telus.net).

DAN KULAI/JACK TINNION SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

Trevor Doyle is this year’s recipient of the combined Dan Kulai/Jack Tinnion Scholarship. The scholarships, setup in memorial of the two deceased members, were combined along with other similar scholarships in the BC Soccer Scholarship Program this year.
