Canadian FIFA Referees Carol Anne Chenard and Darci Kruse will be the guest speakers at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Soccer Referees Association (CSRA) on February 23rd. This year’s event will be held at the Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg, 1670 Portage Avenue. Reservation at the hotel by calling toll-free 1-800-665-1122 and asking for the “Canadian Soccer Referees Association” rate. Rooms are being held aside for a low price of $81/night before taxes.

Both Carol Anne and Darci will be doing a joint presentation on nuturing females into refereeing along with the collective experiences. Carol Anne herself has just returned from the Four Nations Tournament in China where Canada placed third.

A hospitality social hosted by the Manitoba Soccer Referees Association (MSRA) will be held on Friday, February 22nd at the hotel. Lunch is provided on the day of the meeting and the MSRA has invited all attendees from out-of province to their annual pot-luck dinner being held on the night of the same day as the AGM.

     Canadian FIFA Referee and RA member Mauricio Navarro will be the man-in-the-middle for the USA-Sweden international match on Saturday, January 19^th. Assisting Mauricio on the line will be Canadian FIFA AR’s Hector Vergara and Joe Fletcher with the Fourth Official coming from the U.S. The Canadian trio was last seen together working the “Beckham game” on November 3^rd match at BC Place featuring LA Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps.

The BC Soccer association added Roy Branco (FVSRA) and BCSRA and Vancouver Area Past-President Bob Allen to its list of Life Members. In attendance also was CSA President Dominic Maestracci to present the CSA International Achievement Award to member Martin Reid (FVSRA). Jill Proctor was also bestowed with this award but was unable to make the event.
